Where To Go

BEACHES • SWIMMING • SNORKELING

Egmont Key Lighthouse

Jewfish Island

Located in between Bradenton Beach and Longboat Key.  The island itself is private but there is a sand bar just off Jewfish Island making it a popular location for anchoring the boat and enjoying an afternoon of swimming in shallow waters.  Be sure to stay close to the sand bar when swimming…as the tide changes a dangerous current runs under the bridge.

Egmont Key

Egmont Key is a state park and national wildlife refugee located in the mouth of Tampa Bay.  On Egmont Key Island you will find the Civil War ruins of Fort Dade and the Egmont Key Lighthouse.  On Egmont Key you can explore the nature trails and tour the fort. There are informational signs that provide the history of the fort.  When exploring the island you are likely to run into turtles! Other activities include: picnics, sunbathing, swimming, snorkeling, and shelling.  There’s no food, water, or bathrooms on the park so be sure to pack your cooler. Pets are not permitted on the key.

Passage Key

Also a national wildlife refugee located about a mile from the Skyway Bridge just off Anna Maria Island.  White sand beach perfect for anchoring the boat so you can swim, snorkel, and enjoy a gorgeous day of boating!
